through the trees

sometimes it’s hard to see the forest through the trees.  especially when they are lovely aspens in the mountains.

repeat wardrobe

corduroys.  boots.  knee socks.

morning after

whoa!  there’s more snow than i thought.  maybe 8-10 inches.  grateful for public transportation.

snow

it looked like a snow globe outside my office window all day today.  so far, we have about 5 inches.  the walk home was hushed and peaceful and muted.  houses glowed warmly.

light in the evening

this was snapped at 5.15 pm.  i noticed last week that it was not pitch black after 5pm any more.  progress.  except more snow is on its way.

flowers

i always feel like a character in a romantic comedy when i buy a baguette and cut flowers at the grocery store.  the baguette was used to make blueberry pecan baked french toast for brunch today.  the flowers were all yellow.

saturday

we walked to do our errands today.  we stopped and had warm muffins and hot chocolate.  the bush is one of my favorites in the neighborhood.  i think it’s honeysuckle.  it catches my eye each day.

lockers

school still smells the same as i remember from 30 years ago.  lockers are still messy.  some were half open with stuff spilling out.  i love reading the names on the labels and imagining what those kids’ personalities are like.

100 days

it was the 100th day of kindergarten today.  we walked 100 steps.  we counted pegs, snacks, and cups.  we made crowns.  this is the view out the classroom window.

snow

it snowed yesterday.  big and light flakes.  walking to the train was peaceful.  perfect february morning.
